You may be thinking, “If I don’t have my list of 100, how do I get my business started”? So here’s what I think you should consider doing. Rather than nag your uninterested friends, neighbours, relatives and co-workers to buy or sell “your thing”, ask them for referrals.
Make your list of 100 people that you will be asking for referrals instead. When you approach friends, you say something like, “I market a product for people who ( fill in the blank), do you know anyone that may be interested in a product like that?”
By doing this your friends will let you know if they are interested, or if they do know someone else. Your friendship is preserved. If they do not know anyone, don’t push it. Simply change the topic.
