The Secret to Getting Help with Your Scentsy Business
When you start a Scentsy business, you are told; “You’re in business for yourself, but not by yourself.” This is certainly true as you are placed on a team with other consultants. You have your sponsor as a resource and you likely have a company training center.
One key difference is that when you enroll with a direct selling company, you are joining the company as an independent consultant. You’re an independent business owner. If you need a hand with your direct sales business, look at the end of your arm and give yourself that hand.
This simply means, if you need help: ask. That’s it; that’s the secret to getting help with your Scentsy business. If you can’t find the answer in the resources you’ve been given, don’t sit around and wait for someone to hold your hand. Just ask. Sponsors can’t read your mind. Many times if they don’t hear of any problems, they assume all is well.
If you don’t get a prompt or satisfactory answer from your sponsor, keep going up the ladder until you get a response. Too often we hear of struggling and former consultants who complain that their sponsor isn’t much help; and they just give up on trying to get an answer. Others criticize that their sponsor never did anything for them or that they never even hear from their sponsor. Not all sponsors and leaders are good ones, but for now we’re talking about taking control of your own business.
To get started with most direct selling party plan companies, the process is to go to a website and click the link titled, “Start a Business”
. Doing so makes you an independent business owner. By definition, a direct sales sponsor is “The individual you enrolled under to become a Consultant.” The sponsor is there to help and assist when needed, but not to read minds to determine if any one of his/her independent business owners might have a question.
Many sponsors either work outside the home at another job or if they are working their direct sales business full time, they are on the phone or email a good portion of the day, helping potential recruits and current team members. At the higher levels, many sponsors’ sales take a back seat because they devote most of their available time to mentoring their team. If they took the time to call all of the consultants who have been idle or hiding just to see how they are doing (when the downline reports already show they aren’t doing much of anything), then these sponsors would not be as available to help those who do contact them with questions.
If you need assistance, ask for assistance. Most sponsors are more than willing to help – providing they are aware you need help.
